Boys’ Basketball Falls in Championship

  
 

 
  

On Saturday, February, 10 the varsity boys’ basketball team played in the OVAC Championship. They played against the St. Clairsville Red Devils and unfortunately fell short, 78-57.

Wrestling Buckeye 8 Championships

  
 

 
  The wrestling team traveled to Cambridge for the Buckeye 8 Championships on Saturday, February 10. The team had two champions, 285 Landen Thomas and 215 Lucas Thomas. Lucas also received Most Valuable Wrestler, broke the school all-time career record of 147 wins, as he currently has 151 wins, and broke the school all-time career record of 106 falls, currently having 109 Falls. Other placers were: 106 Andrew Alberts 3rd, 132 Andrew Cox 3rd, 157 Bryce Wallace 4th, 175 Vitto Parziale 4th, 190 Caden Hendricks 3rd and RJ Hendershot 4th.  
  

Boys’ Basketball Defeats Barnesville

  
 

 
  

On Tuesday, February 13, the boys' basketball team played Barnesville at home. The junior varsity game went into overtime and ended with a score of 49-47,with Barnesville taking the win. The varsity team won with a score of 82-63. This win brings their record up to 16-4.

Boys’ Bowling Moving to Districts

  
 

 
  

The boys’ bowling team traveled to St. Clairsville for the Sectional Tournament on Tuesday, February 13. They placed third, with a score of 3430, which allows them to move on to the District Tournament.

Wrestling Splits with Zeps and Jets

  
 

 
  

The wrestling team hosted the Shenandoah Zeps and Union Local Jets on Wednesday, February 14. The Huskies split the night, beating the Zeps 48-30 and falling to the Jets 48-33. There were eight contested matches in the two duals. The Huskies won 6 of the 8, with all 6 coming by fall. Picking up wins were: Andrew Alberts with 2 wins, Andrew Cox, Bryce Wallace, Vitto Parziale with 2 wins, Hunter Bittinger with 2 wins, Rj Hendershot with 2 wins, and Lucas and Landen Thomas with two wins.

Girls’ Bowling Falls Short in Sectional

  
 

 
  The girls’ bowling team traveled to Boulevard Lanes on Wednesday, February 14, for the Sectional Tournament. Unfortunately, the girls placed 11th, with a score of 2710, which finishes their season.  
  

Boys’ 8th Grade Basketball Takes on Barnesville

  
 

 
  

On Thursday, February 15, the 8th grade boys’ basketball team faced off against Barnesville, in the end-of-season tournament. Unfortunately, they ended up falling short with a score of 33-18.

Girls’ Basketball Falls to Minerva

  
 

 
  

On Thursday, February 15, the girls’ basketball team played against Minerva. Both teams were unfortunately defeated. The junior varsity was defeated 31-20, while the varsity team lost 41-28.

Academic Challenge Defeats St. Clairsville

  
 

 
  The academic challenge team competed against St. Clairsville on Thursday, February 15. The team was victorious, winning two of the three rounds. Scores of each round were:
Round 1: HC 43-St. C 21, Round 2: St. C 30-HC 28, and Round 3: HC 42-ST. C 16.
  
  

Ohio University Visits Music Department

  
 

 
  The Ohio University Jazz Ensemble visited the Harrison Central Music Department. They played a short concert for our students and their director, Dr. Matt James, conducted a master class with the Harrison Central Stage Band, teaching jazz performance concepts. The Ohio University students also played alongside our Harrison Central students.

“Rock” on Third Grade!

  
  Third grade is learning about rocks. Students brought in a rock and completed stations about different properties of their rocks, such as color, texture, luster, density, streak, and hardness. How fun!
