Chick Quest Returns to Harrison Central Elementary for Hands-On Learning

Chick Quest makes its return to Harrison Central Elementary. This hands-on educational program, led by 4-H educator Caity Romshak, offers students a unique opportunity to observe the life cycle of chicks while engaging in interactive learning experiences.
This year, students are not only witnessing the hatching process but are also participating in three egg-based activities designed to deepen their understanding of biology and agriculture. These activities provide insights into egg incubation and chick development, reinforcing key scientific concepts.
A highlight of Chick Quest is the involvement of fourth-grade students, who are tasked with developing lesson plans to teach younger students. This initiative encourages leadership, communication, and deeper comprehension through peer teaching.
"Chick Quest provides our students with an invaluable opportunity to connect classroom learning with real-world experiences," said Rebecca Agostini, coordinating teacher at Harrison Central Elementary. "It is wonderful to see them so engaged and eager to share their knowledge with others."
Harrison Central is proud to partner with 4-H to bring interactive experiences to students. Families interested in joining 4-H can contact the Harrison County Extension Office at 740-942-8823. The deadline for enrollment is April 1, 2025.
