The first day of school is almost here, and we can't wait to welcome our Huskies back for another great year! As you prepare for the start of the school year, here are a few important dates and reminders to help your family get ready.

August 14, 2026

3:00-5:00 p.m.

Stephenson Center Gymnasium

Kick off the school year with us! Families can connect with community organizations, enjoy activities, and get excited for the year ahead.

5:00 p.m. – Meet the Fall Sports Teams

6:00 p.m. – Head to Uptown Cadiz for a bite to eat and local vendors! 

8:00 p.m. – Harrison Central vs. Catholic Central Boys Soccer

August 19, 2026
9:30-11:30 a.m.

First Day of School

August 20, 2026

Frequently Asked Questions

Are clear backpacks and clear water bottles still required?

Yes. Harrison Hills City School District will continue its clear backpack and clear water bottle policy for the 2026-2027 school year.

Will the district provide backpacks and water bottles?

Students who are new to the district will receive a clear backpack and clear water bottle upon enrollment. Replacement backpacks and water bottles are also available for students whose district-issued items have become damaged or are no longer usable. Families needing assistance with obtaining a compliant clear backpack or clear water bottle are encouraged to contact their building office after August 1st.

Will school supplies be provided?

Yes. Free school supplies will be distributed to students during Open House and will also be available on the first day of school.

Will free meals be available this school year?

Yes. The Harrison Central Board of Education is proud to once again offer free breakfast and lunch to all students for the 2026-2027 school year.
